Glenn Charlton, MD, MBA
Chief Medical Officer

Glenn (Bud) Charlton, MD, MBA joined Helping Hands in 2020 as Chief Medical Officer for the Home Health and Hospice Divisions. Dr. Charlton is involved in all aspects of both divisions, with a focus on monitoring and ensuring quality clinical care. His educational background includes a BS from Westminster College, MD from Thomas Jefferson University, residency in Family Medicine at Washington Hospital, MBA from University of Pittsburgh and post-graduate certificate in medical informatics from Monash University.
Beginning in 1979 with a Family Practice in Sharon, PA he transitioned to full-time Emergency Medicine at Sharon Regional. In 2005 he accepted a position as Director of Clinical Content for a start-up software company in Austin, TX. In 2007 he returned to clinical practice as Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson, NC where he also served on the Board of Directors. In 2012 he and his wife returned to Hermitage where he became Chief Medical Officer at Primary Health Network. In 2020 he left PHN to be involved in the establishment of Helping Hands.
Dr. Heidi Bee, DO
Medical Director - Hospice
Dr. Heidi Bee joined Helping Hands in 2021 and is the Hospice Medical Director. She is also the Medical Director for Willow Women’s Center in Hermitage, PA. From 2000 to 2020, Dr. Bee worked at Sharon Regional as a family doctor and practiced in that health care system.
Dr. Bee is board-certified in family medicine. She studied at Allegheny College for her undergraduate degree and then went on to medical school at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 1996. She then did her internship at Suburban General Hospital in Norristown, PA, followed by a year of general surgery residency. She then specialized in Family Medicine, doing her residency Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.
She currently lives in the valley with her husband and two children. She enjoys running, knitting, reading and caring for her cat, dog, chickens and Koi fish.

Kate Elberty – MSN, RN, COS-C
Vice President - Home Health/Hospice

Kate joined Helping Hands in 2024 as Vice President - Home Health/Hospice. She received her BS in Business in 1998 and started her career working in Sales within the Steel Industry from 1993-2008. She then went back to school and furthered her education at Sharon Regional School of Nursing in 2008, where she became an RN, went on to receive her BSN from Robert Morris in 2017 and her MSN from Chatham in 2019.
She has 12 wonderful years of experience working in Home Health, as Home Health has truly became her passion. Hospice has always been close to her heart, and she is thrilled to now be working with that specialty, along with Home Health here at Helping Hands.
Kate enjoys spending time with her husband, her two children and her 3 dogs.
Stephanie Worona, RN
Clinical Director - Home Health
Stephanie joined Helping Hands in 2021 as the Clinical Director of the Home Health Division. Stephanie has 17 years of nursing experience and prior to joining Helping Hands she worked in both home health and hospice. Most Recently as a Case Manager at VNA Alliance from 2020-2021. Stephanie also spent time at UPMC Horizon in 2019 as a Care Manager. From 2015-2019 Stephanie was the Clinical Supervisor at Sharon Regional Hospice. Her Nursing Career began in 2008 at Sharon Regional Hospital as a floor nurse on 6 west, the Med-Surg Unit and when Stephanie decided to leave the hospital, she was the Charge Nurse on 6 west.
Caring for and educating people on how to best manage acute and chronic illnesses in their homes is something that Stephanie finds important in today’s ever-changing healthcare. Stephanie feels very passionate about enabling patients to have the tools and information they need to remain at home with their loved ones.
Stephanie was born and raised in Hermitage and still lives there today with her husband and daughter. In her spare time, she likes to read, cook, entertain and spend time with her family. She graduated from Sharon Regional School of Nursing.

Jennifer Adamczyk, RN
Clinical Director - Hospice

Jennifer Haynes joined Helping Hands in January 2025 as Clinical Director of Hospice. She graduated from CCBC in 2001 with her Nursing Degree, and she started her career out on a Med Surg/Telemetry floor. She then decided to further her career to Critical Care and then to Home Health and Hospice. Once Covid hit, she felt the need to be “Hands On” again to help others and the community in which she lived in. She then worked as a Pulmonary Nurse and most recently in a UPMC/PACU Position.
She is now back to her career being in Hospice, where “her heart” has always been. She has 2 children and one stepson, whose ages are 18, 15 and 7. Jennifer enjoys the outdoors, going camping, riding four wheelers, dirt bikes and UTVs, as well as going on rides on their Harley.
A FUN FACT about Jennifer is that she has an identical twin sister who is also a nurse, and her mother is a nurse as well.
Melanie Franz
Referral/Account Manager-Home Health
Melanie joined Helping Hands in 2021 as the Human Resource Generalist and then transitioned to the role of Referral/Account Manager for our Home Health division. From 2000 – 2018 she worked at the Mercer County Behavioral Health Commission as a Mental Health Crisis Worker and Case Management Supervisor. She has also worked at Nugent’s as the Social Service Director and Warren Nursing & Rehab as the Human Resource Manager.
Melanie is passionate about serving the underserved in our communities and ensuring that everyone has access to the services they need most. As the Referral Manager she has created a referral process that is efficient and seamless. Melanie takes pride in the rapport that Helping Hands has with our local referral sources and most importantly with our patients and families.
Melanie attended school locally at Kenndey Christian High School and then graduated from Thiel College with a degree in sociology. She currently resides in Brookfield, OH with her husband and two children. She loves spending time in nature, going running, and raising her own chickens for some farm fresh eggs.

Samantha Kriebel
Support Operations Manager – Home Health/Hospice

Samantha joined Helping Hands in March of 2024 as a Support Operations Manager, bringing with her over 10 years of experience in Healthcare Management. Prior to Helping Hands, Samantha worked at Southwoods Surgical Hospital as a Service Line Manager for multiple specialties from 2022-2024. From 2019-2022 she worked as a Practice Administrator for Steward Medical group serving both Ohio and PA. From 2009-2019 she was employed at Mercy working as a medical assistant and then Practice Manager for Primary Care. Samantha is passionate about improving community access to quality healthcare and has spent time in her career helping individuals and families receive the support they need.
Living in Poland, Ohio, Samantha obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Healthcare Administration from Western Governor’s University. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and 2 dogs.
Aaron Cook
Account Manager – Hospice
Aaron Cook joined Helping Hands in the Spring of 2024 as an Account Manager with over 20 years of experience as a Sales and Marketing Representative serving Mercer, Lawrence, and Butler counties. Previously, Aaron worked as an Account Manager for Home Health with Sharon Regional from 2020 to 2024, and as an Account Manager for Hospice with Vitas from
2016 to 2020. He also worked as an Account Executive for Professional Medical Surgical Supply from 2008 through 2016 and an Account Executive for OPUS Pharmacy Services from 1997 through 2008.
Aaron attended High School locally at Mercer High School in Mercer, PA, and continued his education at Marshall University in Huntington, WV.
